PhanArt: The Art of the Fans of Phish, a compendium of fan-made art from the 1980s through 2004, is now available for sale in print for the first time since 2011.
This 400+ page coffee table book features over 1600 pieces of Phish fan created art, including over 400 posters, more than 500 shirts, 300+ stickers, and hundreds of license plates, dozens of tattoos, articles, interviews, essays, and other creations Phish fans made from the late 1980’s through 2004. This comprehensive collection is a must-have for any Phish fan. Hundreds of Phish fans and artists worked to contribute to the collection which was laid out and compiled by Pete Mason.
The book was last on sale in its second printing until 2011. Due to recent demand, the book is available once again in a limited edition of only 50 books.
The cost of the book is $100 plus shipping. This book is entirely not-for-profit and all monies made beyond the cost of printing will be donated to The Mockingbird Foundation, working out to roughly a $15 per book donation.

The Mockingbird Foundation is excited to announce “Rutherford”, the first in a series of art prints commissioned for our upcoming book The Phish Companion – 3rd Edition. Gloriously executed by the brilliant David Welker, the artist behind Phish’s Rift cover art, this print features an armor-suited Rutherford plunging into the depths of a raging river. Framed by rich Gamehendgian imagery, David’s stunning interpretation will be reproduced in TPC3 to introduce the first era of Phish.
This is the first in a series of eight art prints being created by top artists, each representing a different era of the band’s career. Each print will be reproduced in full color in TPC3, and also sold as limited edition prints (both individually, and as a complete set). More details about the print series will be released in the coming weeks.
David has created a special mirror foil edition of “Rutherford”, which we are excited to make available via our friends at Bottleneck Gallery. This screenprint measures 24″ x 18″, is printed on mirror foil paper (similar to David’s acclaimed Alpharetta ’14 print), and has an edition size of 600. (There will also be a standard edition of the print, to be sold at a later date.)
The mirror foil edition of “Rutherford” will go on sale at 12:00 noon EDT on March 31, 2015, via the Bottleneck Gallery website, for $100. Sales are limited to one per person.

This summer, HeadCount is teaming with Phish and artists to promote voter registration. All you have to do to get one of these limited edition postcards is sign a pledge on the back, then HeadCount will mail you the card in November to remind you of your commitment to vote. Jim Pollock explained to HeadCount executive director Andy Bernstein in a new interview. “I kind of wanted to do the positives so they’re riding bikes; they’re not riding cars. But it’s still a race. It’s the red against the blue jerseys. I’m pretty up front about my political beliefs, but I like to see a good race. I’d like to see both parties thrive and to have more parity.”
Along with Pollock’s postcard are unique designs from David Welker, AJ Masthay, TRIPP, Gwen AP, Jamie Hunstsman and tattoo artist Luke Wessman. Each postcards will be part of a single run, and as a bonus, if you sign the pledge, you are automatically entered in a drawing for a free trip on Jam Cruise or one of Cloud 9’s other music destination trips!

You read that right. Artist Eric Hanson, one of the first artists profiled on PhanArt.net in 2009 has unearthed original prints he made for Big Cypress in 1999. These are Big Cypress originals – not reprints. Included for sale are the following: 25 black, 25 blue, and 25 purple of Big Cypress posters, all unsigned and unnumbered (the green variant sold out at BC), these are the last remaining prints among the 2000 prints that were made for the Big Cypress show. All these posters were screen printed on hemp paper. Few are found on Ebay, so you have a prime chance to pick up some original Phanart from Big Cypress, all for $25. Eric has offered $4 of each sale to benefit The Mockingbird Foundation, making for a very generous donation.
But wait, there’s more! Eric also found one last complete set of four Big Cypress Posters that were signed and numbered. With only the first 500 prints of the 2000 prints signed and numbered (show time hit and he never found time to give the rest numbers or signatures), this set of four, is, in Eric’s words, “Pretty special and the last one I have for sale. I don’t even have a complete set myself. This should be sold as a complete set by silent auction. You can keep 100% of this sale for the Mockingbird Foundation. Hopefully it brings in a high bidder.” These will be auctioned off at a later date. Interested? Inquire within by commenting below.
But wait, there’s even MORE! Eric (whose art can be see in the book PhanArt: The Art of the Fans of Phish) has donated 20 Viva Las Vegas Posters from the February 2003 shows at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. These 20 are part of an original series of 250 signed and numbered prints, color reproductions of original artwork. These posters are also $25 and $4 of each sale will benefit The Mockingbird Foundation. As Eric says, “I would really just like people to get them into their collections instead of sitting in the dark.” Eric is sharing some great, rare art from 1999 and 2003 at one of the great events of the summer (that isn’t a Phish show).
