The last PhanArt shows of 2017 are rapidly approaching and we’ve got your guide to the exclusive art available, charities to support this holiday season, music and much more.

December 29 at American Beauty, 3-7pm

Doors will open at American Beauty (251 w. 30th st) at 3pm, with the art show on the third floor, and HFPod will be recording a LIVE broadcast from 3-4pm. Following will be Brooklyn’s Polyvamp, a perfect party starting band

December 30 at Hotel Penn, 12-6pm

Hotel Penn (401 7th Ave) is conveniently located right across from Madison Square Garden. The show is held in the Gold Ballroom – towards the Statler Grill on the 33rd St. entrance, on the second floor. Doors open at 12 noon.

Help the Homeless

As of 2017, there are over 62,000 homeless people in NYC alone.  With over 20.000 phans filtering in and out of Madison Square Garden EACH night of the NYE run, we as a community can make a real impact and help those in need get warmer this holiday season.
This year we will be collecting WARM items to be donated to a local homeless center in NYC. Great items to pick up include socks, gloves, hats and scarves, or any warm piece of clothing. Items must be new with tags. Items will be collected near the entrance of the PhanArt show on December 30th. Want to pick something up close by MSG/Hotel Penn? Try one of 2 Duane Reades nearby.

Groovesafe

GrooveSafe is a movement within the musical community to bring awareness about unwanted touching and sexual assault at concerts. Pick up buttons and stickers at the PhanArt table and show your support for standing up against sexual assault at concerts, keeping your dance space safe and bring awareness to the need for consent. #GrooveSafe

Announcing the Lineups for PhanArt shows on December 29 & 30 in NYC

PhanArt returns to New York City this holiday season with TWO shows during Phish’s New Year’s run at Madison Square Garden.

On December 29th, PhanArt brings more than 20 artists together at The Hotel Pennsylvania for Skyscraper is Grander. The following day, PhanArt will feature 10 artists along with Formula 5 at American Beauty for a pre-show event from 3-7pm, hosted by Live for Live Music. Both shows are free to attend. Hotel Penn is located across 7th Avenue from MSG while American Beauty 251 W. 30th Street.

Held in The Gold Room at The Hotel Pennsylvania, located across the street from Madison Square Garden, PhanArt will bring together a variety of vendors and artists exhibiting exclusive Phish-inspired posters, pins, shirts and unique wares. Admission to this event day long event (12pm-6pm) is FREE.

The lineup for Skyscraper is Grander includes a wide array of artists from across the country and always expanding Phish art community. Longtime Phish artists The Art of Ryan Kerrigan,  Isadora Bullock, Brian Bojo, Stupindous Creations, The Overhead View, Setlist Tees, Jerry4theKids, Original Bootleg, Ariane Davis, Phunk Your Face, Blazin Donuts, His End was the Road, Fred Sutter and Pop Pop’s Terrapin Station all return for another installment of PhanArt, featuring limited edition goods, clothing, posters, pins, stickers and much more.

First time artists include Funky B Boutique, Paul Dilena Designs, East Coasters, Lady with a Phan, 415HolyguyArt, Baba Cool and BagiTagit, each bringing something new to the show, including clothing, posters, pins, patches, fans, apparel and much more.

The Mockingbird Foundation, which has awarded grants for music education totaling more than $900,000 over the past 15 years, will feature prints from The Phish Companion 3rd Edition, where Phish’s 33-year career is interpreted by top artists including David Welker, Justin Helton, DKNG and AJ Masthay.

JEMP Radio will be broadcasting live from the show on the 29th, featuring a selection of funk that sets the tone for the day.

For the first time, shipping from the PhanArt show will be available, along with tubes to purchase. A station will be setup for fans to purchase postage and tubes, and ship items purchased at the show home.

The December 30th show features 10 artists while Upstate New York jam band Formula 5 performs two sets of music. The art show begins at 3pm, with Formula 5 hitting the stage from 4-7pm. The band recently celebrated a successful Kickstarter campaign for their third studio album and put on an energetic, rock improv show to get you warmed up for Phish at MSG later that night.

Artists for the show on the 30th include The Art of Ryan Kerrigan, MYFE. Designs, Funky B Boutique, The Overhead View, Phunk Your Face, Original Bootleg, Pop Pop’s Terrapin Station, 415HolyguyArt and more!

The eclectic artists featured at this event show the broad scope of Phish related art and capture the inspiration of the band in their art. Phish’s creative fan base makes amazing art inspired by the band, their music and the locales they play.

In keeping with the great tradition and success of past art shows, Skyscraper is Grander will offer free entry to all patrons with poster tubes available for purchase. Special edition works only available at the show can be viewed on PhanArt.net and acquired exclusively at the PhanArt show.

PhanArt exhibitions have been held in Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Chicago, Las Vegas and Miami since 2013 and represent a continued effort to promote and exhibit original and unique concert art from a wide variety of artists. The biggest year of PhanArt began in New York City on January 2nd and culminates with the 6th and 7th PhanArt shows of the 2016.

Announcing Two PhanArt Shows in NYC this December

PhanArt is pleased to announce two exhibitions featuring more than 30 artists over two days, both within a very short walking distance of Madison Square Garden.

On December 29th, PhanArt will be at The Hotel Pennsylvania for Skyscraper is Grander. This show will be held in the same room as the January 2, 2016 show, featuring two dozen artists, music and drinks, perfect for meeting up with friends before the show, checking out art made by fans, for fans, with a wide array of artistic creations available.

For the first time, shipping from the PhanArt show will be available, along with tubes to purchase. A station will be setup for fans to purchase postage and tubes, and ship items purchased at the show home. The show will run from 12-7pm and is located directly across 7th Avenue from Madison Square Garden.

1230-show

On Friday, December 30th, PhanArt and Live For Live Music are excited to bring an afternoon of music, artists, and vendors to American Beauty for what will surely be a special edition of PhanArt. The event will feature two sets of music from up-and-coming funk jam band Formula 5, as well as a variety of posters, prints, apparel, pins and more from some of your favorite artists in the scene.

The event will start at 3pm and run until 7pm, so come out to American Beauty for an awesome afternoon filled with music, art, drinks, and free pizza (that’s right, free pizza!)

Lineups for both shows will be announced in the first week of December.

PhanArt Presents: Formula 5, with SOLARiS and PhanArt at Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre, May 16

On May 16, Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre will host Formula 5, SOLARiS and a PhanArt show, from 6pm until 1am. This show features two rising bands from Upstate New York and an exhibition from artists AJ Masthay, Fred Sutter, Pinsanity Designs and The Shakedown Shop. Tickets are available now.

Also available at the PhanArt show will be a limited number of David Welker’s “Rutherford” the first in a series of prints from the upcoming The Phish Companion, 3rd Edition, with proceeds to benefit The Mockingbird Foundation. Tubes will be available for purchase at the show.

Copies of PhanArt: The Art of the Fans of Phish will be available for the first time since 2011, with a limited run of 50 books printed.

Garcia’s doors open for the PhanArt show at 6pm sharp with music starting at 830pm.  Admission to the show is $10 and includes performances by Formula 5 and SOLARiS. The PhanArt show will run from 6-10pm while music will go until 1am. Garcia’s bar will be open throughout the show.

Formula 5, hailing from Albany and Lake George, NY, have recently released their first live album Live Five, Vol. 1, with Summer Tour dates across New York and New England. SOLARiS, a high energy jamtronica trio from Ithaca, NY will start the night out. The two bands perform for the first time at Garcia’s, a venue known for discovering emerging talent alongside established acts performing at The Capitol Theatre.
