Like Living in the Imagination of Mike Gordon…..
I have loved Mike Gordon’s quirky “Mike’s Corner” column in the Doniac Shvice (Phish’s newsletter) for as long as I’ve loved Phish. So, naturally, when I found out these stories had been collected in a book, I had to get my hands on a copy!
For me, reading the stories in this book is like living inside Mike’s head…..poking around in his imagination…and let me tell you that while it’s definitely an acquired taste, it’s also really fun reading if you’re the sort of person that enjoys the off-the-wall and absurd! Every time I read it I laugh!
Full of hilarious illustrations and photos, unusual and interesting plays on words, random thoughts, and nonsensical musings, this collection of short stories is a must-have for the Phish (and more specifically, Cactus) enthusiast!
The book is short – only 55 short stories – but I often find myself picking it up and flipping to a random place in the book and reading a few stories whenever I’m in the mood for a good laugh!
It’s not as easy to find as it used to be, but if you can find one, you won’t regret picking up a copy….I highly recommend it!
