Antelope necktubes, cause it’s gonna be cold cold cold cold cold!

Presenting a very heady, very sensible piece of Phish clothing we fully endorse over here at PhanArt: The Antelope NeckTube!

First things first – What the heck is a NeckTube? Well, it’s a durable microfiber polyester/lycra pullover that fits loosely around your neck that you can pull up to cover up the lower part of your face and neck (hence the name, necktube). A softshell necktube, it is ideal for when you are biking, hiking, walking, snowmobiling, or pretty much any other activity where you want to keep cold air from rushing down your neck!
An added bonus, Antelope AND Tube; that makes for some tasty cowfunk jams. A strong selling point.

Neck tube
Antelope NeckTube

NeckTubes are machine washable, durable, will not fade and retains their cylindrical shape with no stretching! Created from a ‘technical fabric’, it keep moisture away from skin and is highly breathable, as well as being wind-resistant and water repellent. They were designed and printed digitally in England by Simon Ossitt, a Phish fan from the other side of the pond.

These qualities make it ideal for use in windy and wet conditions where you might need protection for your face or neck but are working hard and also need that extra comfort from the breathability, making it great for biking and trekking, but very adaptable…. these were designed by motorcyclists after all.

Another cool thing about the fabric is that it wont fuzz as fast as some of the competition due to the durability of the weave. They can also be worn as a skullcap or headband.

A portion of each sale will be donated to The Mockingbird Foundation.

Cost:$23.49 which includes shipping

THREE by Erin Cadigan, designs in Camden and Merriweather

PhanArtist Erin Cadigan will be debuting her new line THREE Erin Cadigan at the Camden lot. The line is ten new designs based like much of her work on science, myth, ancient cultures, aliens and spirituality. She has been selling the THREE line on tour since summer 1997 but this will be the first full line.

Erin is normally on tour selling her new work but since she is just getting started as a fully self employed artist, her shows have been sadly limited this summer.

If you don’t catch her at Camden, you may see her at MPP, definitely at Super Ball 9 and some of the West Coast shows. Look for her both on lot and on Shakedown tomorrow!!

Click here to see more on her line and here to see more on her work in general

Look for Erin’s SuperBall IX Poster coming soon!

Sweet Evie, Charlotte Kruse

Los Angeles designer and artist featured in PhanArt: The Art of the Fans of Phish, Charlotte Kruse, brings Sweet Evie, a fresh take on timeless elegance in her bold and original accessories and jewelry to the Phish scene.

To all who have known her, the remarkable artistic and design talents of Charlotte Kruse have been evident since her earliest years.

Sweet Evie is a one-woman show, running the website, accounting, sales, tradeshows, not to mention the creation of the jewelery and accessories. Charlotte has found herself most “in the moment” when she’s creating and has come up with a way to make a career out of this. This is what she loves to do: whether it be painting or designing t-shirts for Phish shows or costumes or jewelry, being creative and artistic is who Charlotte is.

Charlotte is inspired by everything around her – nature, texture, color, fashion, history art, music and love.  Sweet Evie is the most joyful expression of all this inspiration. She designs for women/girls, statement pieces and jewelry that you can wear everyday.  Using all kinds of non-traditional jewelry materialsfeathers, recycled leather, vintage pins and buttons, and hand dyed-silks, Charlotte personally handcrafts everything herself.

Her work has a hippie vibe, but her work has gotten more refined over time using gold, semiprecious stones, silk, so much that her work could be considered “luxury hippie“. Her art ties into the whole bohemian fashion movement, and from Charlotte’s point of view, “without intention, this is literally what I want to wear and know there are a lot of other people out there from teenagers to older women, who share this aesthetic!”

Charlotte started early because of Phish and in the Phish lots: “I really started working in the fashion industry BECAUSE of phish…I have always made clothing and costumes for myself, but going to phish shows prompted me to design and create clothing/art for sale and for other people. So I think that’s the link in to Phish”

“I no longer actually sell stuff at Phish shows, but man, when I first started making pants and shorts and skirts I sold the shit out of them on Phish lot, my friends have all saved their Chutzhead clothing and like to bust it out to show me when I visit (Chutzhead was the name of the clothing line from back then..I think I still have some stickers or business cards around, so long ago!!) I definitely got top dollar for what I was making and was creating something that was way way different from the other kind of patchworky stuff you’d see out there

Unique, innovative and stylish, Sweet Evie accessories and jewelry pieces are coveted by all who see them!

Erin Cadigan: PhanArtist and Fashion Designer for the masses

This week’s PhanArtist is Erin Cadigan. Erin is a fashion designer and poster artists living in Brooklyn with her husband (who is also one of her best friends from tour) Martin.

Three - Posters and Shirts by Erin Cadigan
Three - Posters and Shirts by Erin Cadigan

Erin grew up in New Jersey where she saw her first Greatful Dead show in 1988. Over the next few years she was introduced to Phish and saw them for the first time in 1992. In 1994, a life long dream of driving across the country was fufilled. Living in her van, sleeping in squats, long drives to unknown destinations, jumping on Dead tour and catching some Phish shows; for her, nothing could have been better! The next summer she did it all over again and started to tour in earnest after graduating with a BFA in Illustration in 1996. Erin continued to tour and sell her shirts and posters up till the last shows in ’04, and was involved with PhanArt: The Art of the Fans of Phish since shortly after its inception, and has taken part in multiple poster shows and can always be seen on the lot selling her work.

She is very grateful to all who supported her work over the years, and made the last 15 years the most extrodinary experience of her life.

Erin has recently hit the 300 show mark, which we have to give HUGE kudos to. Very impressive Erin!
