No Dogs Allowed: Phish MSG New Years Print by Franky Scaglione

It’s that time of year again… Phish in New York City for the holidays just seems to make sense, and heading back to the East Coast jibes nicely. 2012 has been a great year, and I’m excited to ring in the next in classic fashion… back in NYC at Madison Square Garden!
NoDogsAllowed
Living in The City this past summer, I took nearly every train in every direction, and became fascinated with the infrastructure. I knew I wanted to do a print highlighting the magic of the NYC underground… and, naturally, No Dogs Allowed came to mind. Borrowing the theme from Trey’s playful lyrics, “there wouldn’t be room for the people at all; the trains would be cluttered with dogs big and small,” I wanted to illustrate all of our favourite dogs of Phish fame: McGrupp (the fleahound), Shaggy Dog (the puli), Runaway Jim (the greyhound), Harpua (the bulldog), and even Poster Nutbag (the cat).

No Dogs Allowed is a limited edition screen print run of 150 on archival 100lb French Poptone black paper (24″ x 18″), all signed and numbered. Please contact me if you are interested in pre-ordering a print… I’ll take requests for numbers on a first come-first serve basis, and will ship pre-orders BEFORE I leave for New York (until December 23). Orders placed after December 23 will ship on January 3. Price is $25 plus $10 shipping/handling, in a reinforced postertube, etc. to anywhere in the US/Canada. As always, all subscribers (who have purchased at least four consecutive prints) will be receiving free shipping (and of course, you’ll receive the same number print that you’ve gotten in the past); just remind me when you send payment. For anyone that would like to become a subscriber, I am happy to reserve the same print number for you (as long as it’s still available) and guarantee you free shipping for every print after four purchased. Please just let me know…

Oh, and I just have to ask… can anyone help me out tracking down a ticket? I have all the tickets I need for the holiday run, EXCEPT one ticket for NYE. I have an extra for December 30, and I am willing to trade it (plus throw in an extra $20 and a print) for your extra December 31. Thanks so much for keeping me in mind!

Holiday Best,
Franky.

Franky Scaglione’s Rocky Mountain ReadIcculus

This weekend marks, not only the return of our favourite band to Colorado for consecutive Labour Day runs, but also my 100th Phish show! Anticipating a memorable tour-closing run, and a personal milestone, I created a print to commemorate the never-ending splendor that is Live Phish. Rocky Mountain ReadIcculus is a limited edition screen print run of 150 on archival 100lb Cougar paper (24″ x 18″), all signed and numbered. Transposing a scene from the epics of Gamehenge to Colourful Colorado, we are reminded to read the words of the great and knowledgeable Icculus: The Helping Friendly Book. Here, Icculus appears a top the Rockies and calls on his faithful friend the Famous Mockingbird to deliver the HFB to the good people of Denver.

Price is $35 including shipping/handling in a reinforced postertube to anywhere in the US/Canada. I wanted to send this announcement before the shows hit, so, if you’re interested, you can preorder now or look out for me in the lots… whichever is easiest for you. I’ll take requests for numbers on a first come-first serve basis, and will ship all orders within two days of receiving payment. Prints will be available for $25 in the lots at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park this Saturday and Sunday (I think I’ll take Friday night off). If you miss me at the shows and prints remain, I will be happy to send you one for the same $25 (you’ll just have to pick up the $10 shipping). And, as always, all subscribers (who have purchased at least four consecutive prints) will be receiving free shipping (and of course, you’ll receive the same number print that you’ve gotten in the past); just remind me when you send payment.

To purchase, please visit my online store: www.etsy.com/shop/VimColourStudio or simply PayPal me $35 to paisleyblue (at) gmail.com with your mailing address.

*For anyone that would like to become a subscriber, I am happy to reserve the same print number for you (as long as it’s still available) and guarantee you free shipping for every print after four purchased. Please just let me know…

Franky Scaglione’s ‘Rex Membra’ Radiohead print

The Denver days have been full of sun, March Madness is setting in, and I can feel summer tour knocking at the door… In the meantime, I wanted to share my latest work, a breakout from the Phish prints… a limited edition screen print run for Radiohead! I recognize that most of you are on the mailing list because you are interested in the Phish prints, but I figure there is enough spill-over into the Radiohead fan base and loyal art supporters… so, please have a look!

Rex Membra

The print commemorates Radiohead’s first Colorado performance in nearly nine years, one special evening at the intimate 1stBank Center in Broomfield. Rex Membra (latin for king of limbs) is my interpretation of the sovereign timber… a translation from the king of dinosaurs. Lauding the big-bellied oak tree of the Savernake Forest (in Wiltshire, which the album was named after), I played with the annual rings and tied-in the rex-rooted limbs.

‘Punch You in the NYE’ poster from Franky Scaglione

From Artist and teacher, Franky Scaglione:

Phish is coming back to New York City to ring in (yet) another new year with another spectacular four-night run at the legendary Madison Square Garden. As the shows approach quickly, I am happy to introduce my newest screen print to celebrate the hoopla and hysteria of the main events.

The Garden is home to some of the most illustrious fights in boxing history, and I wanted to create a parallel to the nine-rounds of Phish looming to close 2011 and welcome 2012. Punch You In The NYE is a salute to the late great Joe Frazier and the monumental Fight Of The Century with Muhammad Ali in 1971 at none other than, Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.

PYITN is a limited edition screen print run of 125 on archival 100lb Royal Complements Haute Red paper (18″ x 24″), all signed and numbered. Please contact me if you are interested in pre-ordering a print. I’ll take requests for numbers on a first come-first serve basis, and will ship pre-orders BEFORE I leave for New York (until December 20). Orders placed after December 20 will ship on January 5. Price is $35 including shipping/handling, reinforced postertube, etc. to anywhere in the US/Canada. Prints will be available for $25 on the streets of Manhattan, circling the Garden each of the four nights as well.

Franky Scaglione Lake Tahoe prints ‘Mind the Skipper’

From Franky Scaglione, his new print, ‘Mind the Skipper’

Summer is (still) here and, along with summer comes summer tour and along with summer tour comes fresh art! I just returned to the States from my yearlong residence in Hungary and I’m coming back with a brand new print I’ve been working on for these first-ever Phish shows in Lake Tahoe!

Meet roadie Bob Wiley… sailing on a boat, on Lake Tahoe, way, far away from the dock… hauling all Phish’s gear to the Outdoor Arena for a ripping two-night stand in Stateline, NV! Mind The Skipper is my first concert print since The Antelope Stakes (Saratoga 2010) and my only print of 2011… but I look forward to picking up where I left off next year, and I hope Phish does too!

Price is $35 including shipping/handling, reinforced poster tube, etc. to anywhere in the US/Canada. Prints will be available for $25 in the lots at Harvey’s Outdoor Arena this Tuesday and Wednesday. If you miss me at the shows and prints remain, I will be happy to send you one (you’ll just have to pick up the shipping costs)...

If you are interested in placing an order, please contact me at paisleyblue(at)gmail(dot)com.

As always, all subscribers (who have purchased at least four of my prints) will be receiving free shipping (and of course, you’ll receive the same number print that you’ve gotten in the past); just remind me when you send payment. For anyone that would like to become a subscriber, I am happy to reserve the same print number for you (as long as it’s still available) and guarantee you free shipping for every print after four purchased.

Donations from artists

Over the course of Summer Tour Leg 1, we ran into artists both new and familiar, young and old. Altogether through the 11 shows PhanArt went to, plus the 42′ and PhanArt Art of the Fans of Phish Poster show on 6/20, 19 prints and other random items were donated to us for future auctions for The Mockingbird Foundation! This was an unreal show of support, especially from artists and fans who make their money on tour selling these items.

Here is a list of who donated what. If you want to buy one, for a donation to The Mockingbird Foundation, contact Pete at phanart at gmail and make an offer on a print. They will go into bundles for auctions later this year, after Jones Beach.

Five pins from Central Part of Town Pins, A PH/SH pin from Noah Phence, and Posters from Franky Scaglione, Bruce Horan, and Branden Otto and Ed Wilson. Check out the gallery to see what the Phish community has generously donated to help raise funds for The Mockingbird Foundation.

To purchase a poster, make a donation of at least $20 to Mockingbird Foundation via www.mbird.org and forward your donation receipt to phanart@gmail.com and request one of the prints or pins below.

Franky Scaglione SPAC print – The Antelope Stakes

Franky Scaglione is happy to release his work for the two-night run this past month at the legendary Saratoga Performing Art Center. Saratoga Springs is home to the oldest organized sporting venue in the United States (Saratoga Race Course), so he decided to play with the concept of the Travers Stakes… transposing the horse race into an antelope race coming out of SPAC… naturally.

The Antelope Stakes Saratoga Springs 2010 Edition of 150 100lb Cougar 18″ x 24″ 3 colors $25

Antelope Stakes by Franky Scaglione

Phish so graciously validated Franky’s print by playing a killer Antelope on night two!

A message from Franky: “Thanks to all of you, both new supporters and loyal collectors of my art that I ran into these past few weeks; it was great seeing many of you in Glens Falls at the poster art show at the 42 Degrees Gallery too. For those of you that didn’t get a chance to score a print in the lots or the poster show, I saved some here in Denver and I am ready to fill orders now.”

How to order: send Franky an email at paisleyblue@gmail.com with the amount of prints you wish to order (each costs $25 plus S+H) and a shipping address.

For any fans that have purchased all four of Franky’s Phish prints, you will receive free shipping and the same number print that you’ve gotten in the past. Please let Franky know what number you want when you email him.

Phans that would like to become a subscriber to Franky’s prints, email him and let him know. He will continue to reserve the same print numbers for you in future editions, as long as they are still available, as well as free shipping.
