We are very pleased to announce that the PhanArt Poster and Pin Exhibition: Chicago will be held on July 20th at the Congress Plaza Hotel, a short walking distance from Northerly Island, where Phish will be playing their final show of a three-night stand.
Like previous art shows, admission to the show is free and will feature a wide array of poster and pin artists, unique and limited edition art made specifically for the Phish shows in Chicago, and gives fans a chance to support artists and vendors who otherwise have no place to vend (due to a strict no-vending policy at Northerly Island).
The most recent PhanArt Poster and Pin Exhibition: Atlantic City had nearly 30 artists, including Ryan Kerrigan, TRiPP, Erin Cadigan, Bruce Horan, stuPINdous Creations, Pompeii Prints, Setlist Tees and many more. An initial artist announcement will be made in early May. Artists interested in exhibiting should contact Pete (phanart at gmail) for more information.
Congress Plaza Hotel is located on South Michigan Ave, across from Buckingham Fountain and Grant Park and within a short walking distance of Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, Museum Campus and a great deal of dining and shopping options. Many hotels are located near Congress Plaza Hotel, making the PhanArt Poster and Pin Exhibition: Chicago, a short walk for most fans. Opened in 1893, Congress Plaza Hotel first welcomed visitors to the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago and will continue to welcome a new throng of guests on July 20th when Phish fans descend on the historic location for a day of celebrating art.
Fans will find parking close to the Congress Plaza Hotel, as well as bus stops and rail stops only a few blocks away. It is a short walk for fans to the venue, just a little over 1 mile from Congress Plaza Hotel to the gates of Northerly Island. The PhanArt Poster and Pin Exhibition marks the closest location possible to Northerly Island and will serve as a great spot to pick up Phish-inspired art, meet up with fans and get to know the artists who have been part of the Phish Art Community for many years.
Congress Plaza Hotel will also have food and drink available to fans, with their restaurant The Gazebo open for breakfast from 630 am to 1030 am and for lunch from 1030 am to 10 pm. Congress Lounge will be open from 3 pm-10 pm for anyone looking to have a drink and relax before heading over to Northerly Island for the show.
See you July 20th!
