Last year, PhanArt and the Phishsonian Institute teamed up to present “Below The Moss Forgotten,” a pop-up museum exhibit detailing Phish’s relationship to the Northwest at the first-ever Phish Studies Conference at Oregon State University told mostly through fan-created items. The exhibit marked the first step in establishing a relationship with OSU in regards to the PhanArt archive, establishing a home for the 3000 items that are already documented.
With everyone at home with time on their hands, the two organizations are taking the next step to try and make the archive as complete as possible. They are asking Phish fans at home to comb through any and all of their collections for things we might have missed, Stickers, Posters, T-Shirts, Coozies, anything and everything, no item too great or too small. As a reminder, the key guideline is fan-created items. Official items are not needed.
Whether its from 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0, fan made art spans across four decades and we want to ensure the completeness of this collection.
The Phishsonian Institute offers simple guidelines for fans – images created to use no less than 300 dpi and to send in TIFF format if possible. This will allow the ability to manipulate for future exhibitions and materials. All submissions should be sent to phanartarchives@gmail.com. For more details, check out the video below.
