We’ve Got it Simple: A Documentary about Phish Fans

Mike Lawrence of Philly Philms has undertaken an impressive project over the last two years, creating a documentary that captures who Phish fans are. His film focuses squarely on the fans, not the band, a first of its kind film to be produced. Now, with Fall Tour upon us, Lawrence has started a Kickstarter campaign over the next 46 Days to fund the production and distribution of “We’ve Got it Simple”.

As Lawrence says in the Kickstarter description: “The film and its unique structure will allow us to tell the true story of us, the fans, and the unique and artistic sub-culture world that we have created. Beginning in the early years in Vermont and continuing through the 30th anniversary year, “We’ve Got It Simple” will allow us to celebrate our community and tell our story from the inside, while exposing the most unique and eclectic fan-base in music to those who may not be as familiar.”

Among the rewards for backing this project – downloads and DVDs of the film – there will be a series of Phanart rewards, pins and posters created by a variety of artists, which will benefit the backer as well as the artist for those who support “We’ve Got it Simple” at certain reward levels. These will be revealed over the course of the 46 Day long campaign, with each reward getting better and better, leading up to the Limited Edition movie poster designed by Jim Pollock.

You can back this project here and make sure to tell your friends and share with Phish fans. This is a one of a kind film and the biggest Phish film outside of Bittersweet Motel.

10th Anniversary Maze/Bowie Coin From Adam Davidoff

The 10th Anniversary Maze/Bowie Coin was minted to be debuted in Las Vegas over the 2014 Halloween Run. It is only fitting that the Maze/Bowie Coin resurface in the city where Phish Coins made their debut in 2004!

Needless to say, he has had lots of time to mull over the decisions he made with the original design, and one thing always struck him… how did he overlook the idea of a David Bowie visage from the movie Labyrinth?  This inspired him to rework and redefine the Maze/Bowie Coin concept, including a totally different approach to the Maze design too.  David Bowie is presented as Jareth, the evil Goblin King from Jim Henson’s last production in a brilliant career!  If you missed the first two releases of the Maze/Bowie Coin, here is your chance to get your hands on one. Adam will be at the Halloween run, so you can find the coins in person there.

As with all previous Phish Coins, the 10th Anniversary Maze/Bowie Coin is 1.75″ in diameter, 3mm in thickness, has a reeded edge like a quarter, and has an antique silver finish. mazebowie-3-2

The 10th Anniversary Coin was minted in a limited run of 300 coins, and is priced as follows:

Prices Shipped w/ USPS Tracking:  1=$24, 2=$45, 3=$66, 4=$87, 5=$108…  Add $21 per extra coin thereafter, and please Paypal to phishcoins@gmail.com or email me if you would prefer to send a USPS Money Order.

EMEK “Head like a Black Hole Sun”

Emek designed the poster for the final dates of the Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden tour in Portland and Seattle on August 29 & 30th. The poster is a 22″ x 34″ silkscreen and will be on sale between 12 and 12:30, October 16th

unnamed

Here is what Emek had to say on the design:

Midnight notes from on the spectrum
People ask me how I come up with my ideas?
Most of them come to me in my dreams like this piece did…
Right before I went to sleep I was listening to some old nine inch nails and old Soundgarden…
Then I woke up in the middle of the night with these thoughts and vision.

Sartre said hell is other people Yet we are alone. Dante said there were nine concentric planes of hell:
9×4 = 36 skeletons pictured… 36 is 3&6 is 9…nine inch nails
I wanted to draw something representing coming to peace with pieces of our own inner demons, thoughts and mortality.

Monumental yet Futile
Babel’s Tower of contemplative ghosts
Elevated into the ether
Like so many lost thoughts
Hermetically sealed into memories
from future dreams now lost
Plumbing circuitry parasiting on the remains of a mind palace
Solace
Saw less
So less
Soul less
Solo
So low.
So.. Go.

This poster is signed, numbered, embossed and doodled in a limited edition silkscreen of 150 on pearl paper. Size is 22″ x 34″ and the price is $125 + shipping. One poster per person please.

Please visit Emek’s webstore www.emekstudios.com, click on the NEW RELEASE image to open the sale page . The BUY NOW buttons will appear sometime between 12:00pm and 12:30pm PT  on Thurs. Oct. 16, 2014
