Counting Down the Number Line is the latest children’s book from Pete Mason and Ryan Kerrigan takes children on unique journey while learning their numbers. Using numerical references from over 30 Phish songs, Counting Down the Number Line starts with 2001, 1000, 555, 89, and so on, all the way down to 0 and -7.
Counting Down the Number Line will be available for pre-order starting on November 14, as part of the Virtual PhanArt Show. Books will begin shipping starting the first week of December, and the first 1000 books will be signed and numbered, with a sticker sheet accompanying each order.

We’ve had a long 2020 without live shows or mass gatherings, and thus, no PhanArt Shows, until now.
On Saturday, November 14, the Virtual PhanArt Show will kick off at 12 Noon on PhanArt.net, featuring our largest ‘gathering’ ever of artists from the Phish and Jam communities! The Virtual show will run through mid-January, and allow fans and artists to connect, while supporting small businesses and shopping for the holidays at the same time.
Much like in-person PhanArt shows, fans will enter the ‘event space’ on PhanArt.net while music curated by Sweeping Views plays. You’ll be able to browse around the show’s lineup of artist and vendors, ‘meet them individually, making a connection, and learning more about their art. Fans are able to acquire exclusive items throughout the course of the Virtual PhanArt show via exclusive drops, with all transactions being handled by artists and vendors directly.

During the blackout on Tuesday, June 2, Dustin Karr took the opportunity to collect his thoughts on the movement rising around us, and began to create. The result is a print featuring the Black Power fist surrounded by the BLM chant.
Dustin says of the print:
The BLM movement is near and dear to my heart as I have Black lives in my life, that matter. I wanted to help and so I made these to use at protests throughout the country.
Surrounding the Black Power fist and BLM chant in the background is listed just some of the unarmed Black lives that have been lost to police brutality over the last couple years.
Dustin hopes these prints will help in some small way and can be part of the collective movement for change we are seeking in this country.

One glance at the news — from the disparate impact of COVID-19 to the senseless destruction of black lives — shows it’s never been more important to address racism from every angle, and PHRE want to reach people through their love of Phish.
On Saturday, May 30 from 11:30am – 7:30pm ET, Phans for Racial Equity (PHRE) will host their first ever virtual retreat. The Zoom virtual retreat, ‘In a Minute I’ll be PHRE,’ will feature workshops on racial equity, planning out PHRE work for the next 1-3 years, and talking to friends in groups including BrianRobert, GrooveSafe, and Mike Side Dyke Side. In doing a virtual event, PHRE hopes to give the broader Phish community the chance to learn more about PHRE and their work.
The purpose of the public forum is for the community to learn about how phans of color’s experience in the scene can be different, talk about what we can do together to make our scene as inclusive as possible and our opportunity and responsibility to act for racial justice in the broader world.
Fans will be engaged in a talk about PHRE’s origins, including the Phish Scene So White: Let’s Talk article, the online backlash and what that says about our community. PHRE’s mission will be discussed, as well as core activities such as tabling at Phish shows, working with venues to address harassment, and how folks can get involved.
Set 2 includes a discussion moderated by Jay Curley of Ben and Jerry’s a conversation about race in the scene and PHRE’s origins and organizing work. The forum includes a Phish Trivia contest with a grand prize of Phish Gorge 2021 tickets.
