On March 1, Hiouchi Jewels, in partnership with Warner Music Artist Services, has debuted the officially licensed, hand-made Rose & Bolt Grateful Dead jewelry collection. Rose & Bolt brings to life Sarah Lewis’ love for and inspiration from the Grateful Dead, as well as her remarkable dedication to her craft.
The Grateful Dead’s music has been an important part of my life and an inspiration for all of my creative work, so this collaboration is a dream project for me. I’ve carried my modern bohemian aesthetic from Hiouchi Jewels into this collection, adding the iconic Grateful Dead Roses & Bolts to each piece. The Grateful Dead is so much more than music- it’s a lifestyle, a community, a vibrant, unique culture. It’s truly an honor to have my jewelry join the rich lineage of licensed Grateful Dead artwork and merchandise. – Sarah Lewis, designer
The Rose & Bolt collection features handmade rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings, all featuring roses and the classic 13-point lightning bolt. Elegant, delicate styles come in sterling silver, rose gold, and 16k yellow gold. Bolder, statement styles feature turquoise stones and quartz crystals.
Although Rose & Bolt carries similarities to Sarah’s classic Hiouchi Jewels Collection, many aspects are new. This marks her first time using rose gold, appropriate for the rose motifs in the collection. Sarah has typically made jewelry for women, and is excited to debut her first unisex/gender neutral collection.
Rose & Bolt Jewelry is sure to attract fans of all ages. Each piece comes in beautiful, collectors boxes and microsuede drawstring pouches. Classic styles can go from day to night, office to dance floor, from formal events to Zoom parties! Rose & Bolt jewelry will prove to be coveted pieces in any Deadhead’s collection.

Dave Russo
Dave’s MSG poster measures 11″x14″ and costs $30 in an edition of 1 Billion (collectors may choose their print number). Russo says of the print:
“To commemorate the roaring 20’s, I’m calling attention to our return to the gilded age where unchecked financial habits put us, once again, on a path of uncertainty. This is contextualized in the concert scene at a time when ticket sales are at their most gentrified ever. The baker boomers dream of scoring a NYE ticket as though it were Willy Wonka’s winning wrapper. Those lucky enough to attend must first bow to the scalping tycoons. Venue capacity is the new gold standard.
The edition number of 1,000,000,000 is a playful nod, forcing observation of the abstract absurdity of a number that is often discussed in news, but seldom witnessed in practicality.”

LaPlaca Pottery
Greg Laplaca has been seeing Phish since 1991 and making pottery since 1993. All of his mugs are handmade on a potters wheel and finished by him. The labor intensive method to add logos is a signature aspect of his work, which he describes here:
Once the mug is thrown on the potters wheel and set up for a day I add the handle and roll out a slab of clay. I then stamp that with the logos, cut them out, and attach them to the mugs. Once they are dried and fired the first time at 1945 degrees. I stain all the logos with black glaze. I then wipe it off to antique the design. The logo is then painted with bees wax so the glaze is resisted when I dip the mug in the final color. The mug if then dipped in the final glaze color, and logo wiped clean so the natural clay is exposed wit the logo stained. The mugs then go back in the kiln and are fired to 2235 degrees. Once cooled down they are ready to be sold.
All mugs are finished with food safe, dishwasher and microwave safe glazes. No two are exactly alike because each one is individually made.
Mugs are on special for $35 each, 2 for $60 or 4 for $100.
