Screens ‘n’ Buds – A Virtual Art Show Featuring Beer and Cannabis Inspired Art

The ever-popular Screens ‘n’ Suds has brought artists and art lovers together for over a decade, helping to support the MS Society. This year, they’re going green with a ‘Flowers’ angle on the series, aptly named Screens ‘n’ Buds.

With more than two dozen artists donating prints to the series, this fully for charity series has auctions that are currently underway, and updates can be found on their Facebook page.

Ending on February 4, a raffle for a Shang “Journey in the Suds” or Spusta “Maurice.” You can enter a raffle by donating $5 directly to the Screens ‘n’ Suds MS Walk Team.  For each $5, you’ll get one raffle ticket. There is no limit on spots.  Winner will be announced the morning of 2/4 and will receive either a Spusta Black Rubber “Maurice” mini or Shang “Journey In the Suds” print as a prize.  This donation is tax deductible and a corporate matching gift can double your impact!  If you choose to donate anonymously, please email us a receipt. TRPS Presents Festival of Rock posters at Golden Gate Park’s Hall of Flowers Oct. 28

The Rock Poster Society will present the Festival of Rock posters at Golden Gate Park’s Hall of Flowers on Saturday, October 28, in San Francisco, near the corner of Ninth and Lincoln.

Doors open at 10am and the show runs until 6pm. From 10am–11am, admission during the first hour is $20 for non-TRPS members. Admission for TRPS members is $5, but your membership needs to be current. Bring your card at entrance or renew or join there! From 11am–3pm admission is $10 for non-TRPS members and $5 for TRPS members, and from 3pm-6pm, admission is FREE to all.

Widespread Panic to Release “Poster Children”, Book of Official Poster Art

Widespread Panic has spent 25 years earning a reputation for amazing live shows. The band’s commitment to the live experience is not limited to the stage, but to visual artists across the country. Much like Phish, the band has been dedicated to commissioning artists to create limited edition posters for their shows and they have archived all of these posters in their vault.

Every Widespread Panic fan would love the chance to dig through the bands poster archive, and with Poster Children, they get the chance. Over 400 posters spanning their entire career are included in this 320 page hardcover book, including notes from Dave Schools and John Bell and from the poster artists, including EMEK, Marq Spusta, Chuck Sperry and Jeff Wood.

Bassist Dave Schools on Poster Children: “These posters were another way for our fans to relive the show and commemorate a good time. In a way, they were like the gatefold record cover of the by-gone vinyl era – a visual interpretation for fans to look at while listening to our music.”
