Last year, PhanArt and the Phishsonian Institute teamed up to present “Below The Moss Forgotten,” a pop-up museum exhibit detailing Phish’s relationship to the Northwest at the first-ever Phish Studies Conference at Oregon State University told mostly through fan-created items. The exhibit marked the first step in establishing a relationship with OSU in regards to the PhanArt archive, establishing a home for the 3000 items that are already documented.
With everyone at home with time on their hands, the two organizations are taking the next step to try and make the archive as complete as possible. They are asking Phish fans at home to comb through any and all of their collections for things we might have missed, Stickers, Posters, T-Shirts, Coozies, anything and everything, no item too great or too small. As a reminder, the key guideline is fan-created items. Official items are not needed.
Whether its from 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0, fan made art spans across four decades and we want to ensure the completeness of this collection.
The Phishsonian Institute offers simple guidelines for fans – images created to use no less than 300 dpi and to send in TIFF format if possible. This will allow the ability to manipulate for future exhibitions and materials. All submissions should be sent to phanartarchives@gmail.com. For more details, check out the video below.
ScarletFire Handmade by Studio La SiL is a collection of artisan jewelry & accessories inspired by music, festival vibes and the ocean. Handmade works of art created by La SiL are made in an independent artisan studio in Plymouth, Massachusetts by the beautiful coastal waters of cape cod.
The music collection is inspired by listening to live music and traveling. These art pieces will play on forever and a percentage of sales will go to The Mockingbird Foundation to help raise money for music education for children.
The 5 elements of earth, water, air, fire and aether also inspire La Sil. The free flow design patterns represent these basic ideas as a primitive building block. Her ‘glass earth series’ is about the planet and its fragile ecosystem that lives harmonious throughout all living things organically, as well as an ocean series ‘wave’ collection that is inspired by living and working by the ocean.
Designs are fabricated in silver, gold and platinum metals incorporating precious gemstones, hand blown glass, authentic sea glass and high grade pearls. Most pieces are signed by the artist, hand engraved on the piece, or with a metal or leather tag with her artist name, La SiL.
La Sil is based in Massachusetts and has been making art inspired by Phish since the late 90’s and has a new line of jewelry and more to share with phans. Custom work is also available.
Check out more work at StudioLaSiljewelry.com and on Facebook and Instagram.
