New from PhanArt in 2011 is our weekly Friday Feature: This Week in PhanArt History. Each piece of art we share is from days of Phish in the past, typically from the 1.0 and 2.0 eras, something of note that fans of all ages can appreciate that is featured in the book PhanArt: The Art of the Fans of Phish, with some commentary on the piece by PhanArt Pete.

Have you ever driven by a car with those ‘my student is an honor student at ……….’ and said ‘um, ok’. Well, this sticker was created in the mid-1990s to add a phan-friendly twist to it. The average person driving down the street would see it and either ignore it as a typical ‘honor roll’ sticker or think ‘hmmm, Gamehendge Elementary…’, but a Phish fan who saw it would get the joke and smile. The simplest of ideas executed this properly leads to a touch of joy for all.

Two new auctions for Mockingbird this week!

To start a new year of raising money for Mockingbird Foundation off right, we have started two new auctions to raise money for music education.

Woo-Hoo shirt – donated by Jon Quinet, the Woo-Hoo guy, this Large shirt says Woo-Hoo on the front and back. Simple, yet elegant

Baby onesie with 4 stickers and Phish/ACDC pin – donation from Jiggs, Zenster and Richard Pearlman make up this auction, as well as a baby onesie from YouEnjoyMe that says ‘I came from my daddy’s BBJ’. Size 12 months.

Keep Trey Sober Stickers

While in Miami, I was lucky enough to meet and make friends with  Jeffery and Holly Bowling from San Francisco. While selling beer and water on the lot, I noticed the sticker in Holly’s hand, quite familiar to one that I saw in Albany. This sticker was a hard-to-find lot item, but one of our Top 10 lot items from Fall tour. Turns out we had mutual friends and a conversation about the stickers started. We hung out that night at their hotel and on the beach and discussed getting the stickers up on the blog.

Exclusively on the PhanArt Blog, we have the Keep Trey Sober stickers for sale from Jeffery and Holly.  Whats more, is that $1 of each sticker goes to Mockingbird! The generosity is amazing and we thank Jeff and Holly immensely for this unselfish act.

Jiggs’ Kuroda shirts are in!

With the ever popular sticker having sold out multiple printings, and many months of requests for these, Jiggs is bringing back the Kuroda Laser Pointer shirts.

Chris got one of these stickers and placed it right on his light board, and Jiggs considered making at least make a few shirts. The lime green color was chosen to represent the laser color and the original run was on charcoal colored shirts.

After daily requests to reprint them, Jiggs decided on a run of the original colors, as well as a new one; a dark violet text on sand. The text is screen printed on a Gildan 6.1 oz. 100% cotton shirt.

You can also request a hoodie. They are priced at $40. Email Jiggs at mrminor@gmail.com for those requests.
