Announcing the Artist Lineup at Skyscraper is Grand

PhanArt is proud to announce the lineup for Skyscraper is Grand, featuring a diverse group of print makers, designers, artists and pin makers, exhibiting their craft and talent on January 2, 2016 in New York City.

Held in The Gold Room at The Hotel Pennsylvania, located across the street from Madison Square Garden, PhanArt will bring together a variety of vendors and artists exhibiting exclusive Phish-inspired posters, pins, shirts and unique wares. Admission to this event day long event (12pm-7pm) is FREE.

The lineup for Skyscraper is Grand includes a wide array of artists from across the country and always expanding Phish art community. Longtime Phish artists The Art of Ryan Kerrigan, Uncle John’s Outfitters, John Warner Studios, Isadora Bullock, Jampanties, Michael Boyer, Super Rad Cape Co., OTTO Art, Fred Sutter, The Overhead View, The Ultimate Trade Zone, PhanBadge, Heady Hats and Prints Caspian are among the exhibitors and artists to be found, each with a portfolio from of current and past art.

Pin makers and designers Pin me Down, Zenster Designs, Andrew Bryant and 10 Minute Tube Designs will feature their ever-popular pin series and designs, as well as other items made specifically for the New Years run and Phish’s Mexico run in January.

New additions to the show include Eden’s Rose Foundation, Pop Pop’s Terrapin Station, Pinsanity Designs,​ Brian Bojo​ and Heady Teddy’s​!

The Mockingbird Foundation, which has awarded grants for music education totaling more than $900,000 over the past 15 years, will feature prints from The Phish Companion 3rd Edition, where Phish’s 33-year career is interpreted by top artists including David Welker, Justin Helton, DKNG and AJ Masthay.

Lauren Bozich, You Enjoy My Shades and His End Was the Road are among the first time exhibitors, each bringing something new to the show, including clothing, pins, patches, sunglasses, apparel and much more.

A playlist created by Blank Space will set the tone for the show, adding to the lively vibe of this event throughout the day.

PhanArt exhibitions have been held in Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Chicago, Las Vegas and Miami since 2013 and represent a continued effort to promote and exhibit original and unique concert art from a wide variety of artists.

The eclectic artists featured at this event show the broad scope of Phish related art and capture the inspiration of the band in their art. Phish’s creative fan base makes amazing art inspired by the band, their music and the locales they play.

In keeping with the great tradition and success of past art shows, Skyscraper is Grand will offer free entry to all patrons with poster tubes available for purchase. Special edition works only available at the show can be viewed on PhanArt.net and acquired exclusively at the PhanArt show.

The Next PhanArt Show Will be Held in…

On January 2, PhanArt comes to New York with ‘Skyscraper is Grand’, featuring more than two dozen artists and bringing the fan favorite event to New York City for the first time. Held at The Hotel Pennsylvania on 7th Avenue, directly across from Madison Square Garden, ‘Skyscraper is Grand’ will run from 12pm-7pm on the final day of Phish’s four-night NYE run.

A Furthur Photographic Trip with the Grateful Dead

On Friday, October 30, Pop International Galleries Presents famed photographer Roberto Rabanne, featuring rarely seen photographs of the Grateful Dead. The event, held from 5:30pm to 8:30pm is RSVP only.

The images of photographer Roberto Rabanne have captured the energy, complexity and beauty in music, fashion and art for more than four decades.

In 1967 Rabanne befriended Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. The legendary musician gave him priority access and allowed Rabanne to do many photos of him and the band. Roberto Rabanne began his career in New York as the influences of the counter culture were being felt on music, fashion, art, and politics.

His iconic photographs of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, The Grateful Dead, and other great rock bands quickly earned him a reputation as a master at capturing the exhilaration of live performances on film, as well as the private off stage moments.

AJ Masthay Show at Further Frames in Denver, September 3

Denver gallery Furthur Frames will host a show featuring art by AJ Masthay on September 3rd from 7pm – 10pm. AJ’s extensive work will be on framed display as well as loose prints for sale, including lots of past gems along with a new print edition available at the show.

AJ will be on hand for the show remarquing prints and chatting with fans. Rolling Smoke BBQ will be dishing out food this evening, in addition to libations and assorted beverages. With the final run of Phish’s summer upon us, this marks a great prelude to the weekend.

PhanArt Presents: A World Cafe Live One, August 12 in Philadelphia

A World Café Live One, featuring an extensive variety of artists who draw inspiration from the music of Phish will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at World Café Live, 3025 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104. This one of a kind art show, created and produced by Pete Mason, will be held on the second day of Phish’s two night stand at The Mann Center for the Performing Arts, a 10 minute drive from World Café Live.

The lineup announced for the A World Café Live One represents a wide array of artists from across the country and extended Phish art community. Longtime Phish artists Isadora Bullock, Ryan Kerrigan, TRiPP, StuPINdous Creations, Fred Sutter, Graphic Translations, Jampanties, [Brendan/LoPorto Studios], and Setlist Tees are returning exhibitors and fans can expect to find a large portfolio from each artist of current and past art.

Pin makers and designers Dr. Wookles, Pins by CZ, Pin me Down, Pinsanity Designs, and Zenster Designs will feature their ever-popular pin series and designs, as well as other items made specifically for the Philadelphia and Magnaball shows.

Josean Rivera, known for his setlist art prints, The Overhead View, S.A.W. Family Creations, Blueskaithreads, Dogmatagram Designs and Whole Phamily are among the first time exhibitors, each bringing something new to the show, among them posters, clothing, Christmas items, children’s clothing and much more.

A musical performance from San Francisco-based pianist Holly Bowling will take place throughout the art show.  Each set will feature Phish songs arranged for solo piano and several “jam transcriptions”, including a complete rendition of the ‘Tahoe Tweezer’ during the final hour, beginning at 3 pm. Holly recently completed a successful Pledge Music campaign for her album Distillation of a Dream and will have posters, pins and albums from the campaign for sale.

The Mockingbird Foundation, which has awarded grants for music education totaling more than $800,000 over the past 15 years, will debut an eight print series from The Phish Companion 3rd Edition. Phish’s 33-year career is interpreted across eight stunning prints by top rock artists including David Welker, Justin Helton, DKNG and AJ Masthay. The Eden’s Rose Foundation

A non-profit foundation working with small communities of artists in Ecuador and India, Eden’s Rose Foundation features hand carved Grateful Dead wood carvings, GD macrame jewlery, GD alpaca hoodies and GD alpaca blankets. Eden’s Rose will also have a limited number of ticket holder lanyards and Grateful Dead magnetic poetry sets created by our outreach volunteers.
