Ben Whitesell’s Atlantic City Print

Ben Whitesell has released his new print for Summer 2012 and has brought in some Japanese and a robot to the party in AC.

This print measures 13”x 19” and is printed on Epson Enhanced Matte Paper, which has a good weight, a smooth surface,  and provides sharp detail of the poster, which was also printed with Epson archival inks. They are in a limited edition of 30 prints, each signed and numbered by the artist. They cost $15 each + s&h

As a bonus, Ben will be running a contest starting on Monday June 4th on his site, www.benwhitesellblog.com. The first person to come closest to translating the print and commenting on the post about the poster will receive a free copy. Look for more details about the contest and some clues on Monday.

Update: Clue 1: “Man, looks like The Attack Of The Vacuum Robot Man!”

Bouncing Round the Room poster by Alex Boucher

Alex Boucher, who created a pretty kick ass shirt for NYE at MSG, has created a hand-drawn poster based on the song ‘Bouncing Around the Room’. This prints measures 11×14″ and is digitally printed on high quality paper. The words “Bouncing Around the Room” are surrounded by highly detailed and tediously drawn patterns and designs.

You can order this poster at Alex’s Etsy Store

Limited amount of AJ Masthay’s Bridge Session prints available

A limited number of prints from this past weekend’s Bridge Session event featuring Bob Weir and members of the National are now available through my webstore at www.masthaystudios.com. Each of the six color linoleum block prints, featuring my take on the Grateful Dead’s iconic Steal Your Face, is signed and numbered from the edition of 400. Also available is the single Watercolor Variant. This print is numbered 1/1, and was created using traditional monotype techniques giving an overall “watercolor” effect to the image, truly one of a kind. AJ Masthay Phish Summer Tour Leg 1 Subscription info

From AJ Masthay and on-sale this Friday, March 9th at 12 noon EST…

God, it seems like New Years was ages ago… but we finally have our dates and I’m happy to announce Masthay Studios will once again be offering up a limited number of subscriptions for the first leg of Summer 2012!  Two subscription options will be available, Regular andEnhanced, both of which will be available this Friday, March 9th at 12 noon EST on the Subscription Page ofMasthaystudios.com.

The regular subscription entitles the purchaser to every print created by Masthay Studios for the first leg of Summer 2012. This is absolutely the best way to ensure you receive those “high demand” prints, especially considering some prints may be exclusively available at the venue or associated poster shows.
Cost of the regular subscription is $300 including insured shipping.

The Enhanced subscription gives you the opportunity to choose two prints/panels from the sub to be “given the treatment”. The chosen prints will have their borders painstakingly enhanced with full color drawings by the artist, each a one-of-a-kind work of art. If there was a Ferrari of the print world, these would be it. Check out the Enhanced Print Gallery on our Flickr page to see examples of previously enhanced prints.
Cost of the enhanced subscription is $600 including insured shipping.

Subscription details:

  • Each subscription will include matching numbers and will be sent in one shipment once all prints are completed.
  • A minimum of 10 prints will be included in each sub. Within the 10 will be at least one triptych and one set of mini-prints. If time allows and additional prints for the 1st leg of summer 2012 are created, they will automatically be included in the sub.
  • 1st Leg subs will only include prints associated with the 1st leg of summer tour. Any prints for other bands or organizations created during that time will not be included.
  • Enhanced subscriptions take a significant amount of time to complete. Please allow for additional time to complete these enhancements before the subscription will ship.
  • Enhanced sub holders will be given the option to have all three panels of the triptych enhanced at an additional cost. Note – this additional cost covers only the three panels of the triptych, not the triptych in addition to two other prints.

Modern Prophet NYE poster

Modern Prophet came into being at the end of 2011 – the brainchild of two tour kids living in the Albany, NY area. The continuing goal of Modern Prophet is to open the third eye and to expand the mind through visual stimulation.

This poster depicts the coming of the Mayan Prophecy — delivered by the Flying Octopi — straight to the streets of New York City. They come not to destroy us but to deliver unto us the knowledge of the ancients to ensure our success on this planet instead of allowing us to completely destroy ourselves. The posters were screen printed on a 6 color press and were printed with 100% eco-friendly inks. The poster measures 13″ x 19″ in a run of 125. The cost for the print is $20.75 with shipping included.

Expect many more designs from these guys and keep your third eye open.

Conor Brewster NYE Poster “Find a city, find yourself a city to live in”

Conor Brewster’s NYE ‘11 Run Poster captures the wonderful NYC architecture while also subtly representing each member of the band with a ‘doc F-hole, a Modulus Cactus, the Leo constellation in the sky and a fish, as well as Kuroda’s lights. The poster covers all four nights at Madison Square Garden and is a 5 Color Silkscreen 18×12 Edition of 50.
The Print is up for sale in Conor’s Etsy shop and costs $16 including shipping.

Objectiphied by Taylor Harvey and Joey Zoldan

This poster is a first time collaboration between Taylor Harvey and Joey Zoldan and measures 10″ × 15″ as a single color screenprinted mini-poster. This print was inspired by a poster for Objectified, the second installment in Gary Hustwit’s design documentary trilogy. Featuring multiple references to Phish lyrics and songs, the poster is printed on Canford 140lb Dreadnaught Gray card paper and has an interactive element as well, inviting the knowledgeable Phan to discern the various inspirations.

Taylor Harvey is well-versed in many aspects of design, having received formal training at SUNY Oneonta.  Joey Zoldan has collaborated on recent homespun lot fare like Brooklyn (Brewery) Biscuits stickers and Bisco Love T-shirts. Both intend to expand on this fruitful collaboration in future artistic endeavors. There a few posters left from a signed and numbered edition of 75. Cost is $20 including s+h
