The Soulshine Poster Art Show at Summercamp

The Soulshine Poster Art Show is an exhibition of artisans who create
handmade concert posters utilizing the time-honored process of fine art
printmaking.

The event is hosted in eulogy to Lisa Rosemann artist, live music
devotee and spirit of our community – who left us to paint her greatest
masterpiece this May.

Visit the Soulshine Tent Fri-Sun 10am-4pm to learn more about the art of printmaking and return home with a valuable collectible. View a special exhibition of The Art of Lisa Rosemann and bid on posters autographed by many of the musicians performing at this year’s 2010 Summer Camp Music Festival with proceeds benefitting charity.

PhanArt and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

A few months ago, word got around that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland was opening an archive wing and was seeking donations.  We donated a copy of PhanArt, and a few issues of Surrender to the Flow fanzine to the hall, and recently got a thank you letter that you can read below.

So when that Phish exhibit opens up in say, 2020*, you may wind up seeing PhanArt and Surrender to the Flow in the same company as the Hotdog and other Phish memorabilia!

Update: Help get PhanArt in your local library!

A few months ago we asked fans to help get PhanArt into local libraries. Well, a few months later, we have some success to report on.

PhanArt can now be found in the following libraries throughout America:

Albany Public Library, Albany, NY
Bird Library at Syracuse University
Suzzallo Library at Washington University
The Library at The University of California, Berkeley

Thank you to all who helped us out with this effort.

We are asking fans to help us out again, to send an email to your local library and ask them to buy PhanArt for their collection. By doing so, they will A) have a one of a kind book in their collection and B) support music education nationwide.

Find your local library by going here:

1) After you find your local library’s website and look for the link to ‘Recommend a book‘ or ’Suggest a title‘. This is typically how the library looks into purchasing new titles. If for some reason, you aren’t able to find a link like this, most libraries have a keyword search tool where you can search for ‘recommend‘ or ‘suggest‘ to help you find out where to make a request of this nature. Once you’ve done this, pass the word along to any friends who would be willing to help and ask them to do the same.

1a) If you go to college, go to that library’s site and do the same – colleges have already shown interest in purchasing PhanArt, as there is a greater demand for the book at colleges and universities.

2) Put in the information about PhanArt:
Title: PhanArt: The Art of the Fans of Phish
Author: Pete Mason
Website: www.phanart.net/blog
Make sure to note that the only place to buy it is the website, so they don’t go looking for it in the wrong place. And especially note that net profits benefit Mockingbird Foundation, which supports music education nationwide.

Tell them about the book so they are familiar with the title and seek it out. Libraries are always looking for new books, so submit a recommendation and get PhanArt in your library. Of course this means if they buy it you have a copy to check out of your local library! Check it out, share with friends, and return the book so you don’t get fined.

Now in its second printing, the book contains artwork and interviews with those involved in the Phish community. Glowstickwars.com: Helping phans create live art since 2010

You can’t have a good Phish show without a good glow stick war, and you can’t have a good glow stick war without glow sticks. A void has been filled: GlowStickWars.com is here and they have glow stick deals for you.

Well, not really glow sticks as in those heavyarmy-surplus store kind. Rather the little skinny ones that don’t hurt when they come whizzing out of the air. They also form glow rings, which have made for many a nice trail to catch flying through the air mid set. GSW has created their own brand of concert-friendly glow sticks, called Show Sticks. And the packaging even features a sick shot taken by a fan during a war at Festy 8.

GlowStickWars.com comes to fans PhanArt Recommended and PhanArtApproved, because they contribute to the making of LIVE ART by the fans at Phish shows, a type of performance art that is fleeting and if you miss it, it’s gone.

You can stock up on Show Sticks by clicking on the Buy Now button below.  For $5.99 you get a tube of 100 Show Sticks: Thin, 8″ Concert-Friendly Glow Sticks with 100 Bracelet Connectors; Show Sticks are non-toxic and non-flammable. This is a pre-sale offer, and all products will be delivered by the first week of June.

A portion of ALL proceeds is donated to The Mockingbird Foundation.
