Brian McGregor posters for Amherst, Nashua and Providence

Brian McGregor is a Boston based artist who has worked Visual Design for several Phish festivals including Coventry and Festival 8.   He got his BFA from Bowdoin College and currently works for other festivals such as Bonnaroo and All Good.  Why does he love Phish?  They were the first band I was able to get into a groove with while creating art.  When songs on the radio maybe lasted 3 minutes, being able to draw to a 20 minute YEM jam helped take my work to another level. No wonder why all the Pop listenin’ kids got ADHD, who needs adderall when you’ve got the Phish jams!

These posters are hand drawn 11×17 color glossy prints printed on 80lb. paper. The cost is $15 each with free shipping.

AJ Masthay Fall Poster Subscriptions

From AJ Masthay: www.masthaystudios.com

Update: Poster for 10/29 revealed!

Who’s up for an old school Northeast run? I am.. I am…!!! Providence, Mullins Center, Atlantic City!?! yeah, count me in. I know, everyone says we’re spoiled in the northeast, well… I agree. Think of it this way, it’s a wonderful excuse to come see the beautiful foliage.

I digress, so I’ve been getting alot of questions about whether or not Ill be doing another mini-subscription for this tour. The answer my friends is YES. I think the 2nd leg summer sub worked out very for all those involved. Once images were released I got many emails from happy sub holders who were thankful they didnt have to worry about onsale dates and times.

So this time around the subscriptions will include a minimum of 6 prints. Currently slated are Amherst, Providence, Augusta and a special triptych for the Halloween shows, but these are up for debate and may change (okay Halloweens are already completed so they wont change… a little tease of the 29th is pictured above). If you are a fan of my work, especially past Halloween editions, I guarantee you will not want to miss out on these. All subscriptions will have matching numbers and specific number requests will be honored if available. I will be offering only 20 subscriptions for this leg with a limit of 2 subs per person.

Cost for each subscription is $200 which equates to a $5 discount on the cost of the prints themselves and I’ll cover insured priority mail shipping. All prints will be shipped together once the final edition is completed.

Subscriptions will be available this Friday, September 17th at 12 noon EST. A paypal button will appear on www.masthaystudios.com/subscription

As always feel free to email me at info@masthaystudios.com with any questions, concerns, comments, etc.

Phish Fall Tour 2010 Dates

Confirmed Phish Fall Tour Dates

10/8 – Austin City Limits Music Festival, Austin, TX

10/10-10/12 –  1st Bank Center, Broomfield, CO

10/15-16 -North Charleston Coliseum, Charleston, SC

10/19 – Augusta Civic Center, Augusta, ME

10/20 – Utica Memorial Auditorium, Utica, NY

10/22 – Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, RI

10/23-24 -Mullins Center, UMASS Amherst, MA

10/26 – Verizon Wireless Arena, Manchester, NH

10/29-10/31 – Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, NJ

Initial analysis indicates that Phish has some sort of grudge against the west coast, and that those 3 Greek shows should hold you over for about 10-11 months. Phish also seems to like being near home, spending 9 out of 15 dates of fall tourin the northeast. This bodes well for people who live in the northeast, as well as the potential for extras, with less college kids from the midwest and south coming to see Phish. But there’s always Umphrey’s McGee and Widespread Panic to hold you over till New Years. It’s not the same, but if you pretend its sometime between 2005-2008 when Phish wasn’t touring, it will feel right. Maybe not completely right, but close.

But yeah, Midwest got hosed on tour dates. What did you guys do?

Some Atlantic City tips – bring condoms. This goes for dudes as well as the ladies. Understand that Atlantic City is a CDC hazard site and you will most likely leave with an STD.  A bachelor party I attended in 2005 netted 5 cases of the Clap alone in one hotel room. Wear these condoms during the show, just to be safe. Rashes and diseases sneak up all over during the stay there. They don’t come out during the day usually, but around 6pm, load up on lots of hand-sanitizer. For your skin, not to drink. The predictable hot lot item? Penicillin. By the bottle. Going rates in early fall tour trading on the PhanArt Stock Exchange show initial projections to be 1 for 3, 2 for 5 (143245) but this could rise as tour heats up. Diseases are attracted to heat. Stay vigilant fans. Also a hot lot item:

nectar of the gods

Mainly in Utica, but don’t be surprised to see it in…. Oh nevermind, it’s only going to be a hot lot item in Utica. And cheap as shit too. Enjoy the deliciousness that is, Utica Club. ANYONE CAN JOIN THE UTICA CLUB! We’ll see you this fall folks! Stay tuned for updates from the road, as well as phan made art for sale here on the PhanArt Blog!

Top 10 best lot items on tour this fall!

10. Keep Trey Sober sticker – there have been a few things in poor taste relating to Trey’s sobriety. This is not one of them. It’s a good idea. A group effort is needed in all recovery from addiction. Keep that in mind. IMG_5762 9. Ph1-N1 shirt – Created by John Warner and Jduballstars; a nice nod to the flu that came and went faster than it takes to play the song this shirt is themed after. ph1-n1-front ph1-n1-back 8. Andrew Abis MSG – This poster tells a ton of stories about the band playing MSG. This is GREAT art! Pick it up by emailing Andrew at   prints@onephanstrash.com – $35 with free shipping!

7. Phenster’s pins – unique as hell, and not the rip-offs of the logo that a few people had the cojones to parade around (you know who you are). Noah keeps coming up with hits, and the pins look to be a regular top 10 feature, if these are any indication! phishpins.blogspot.com

6. Albany Lot Shirts – created by two hometown fans for two hometown shows.

albany phish shirt 5. Jiggs’ Ghost shirt – An Instant Classic. Up there with Glide/Tide in the Phish Lot pantheon of shirts. mailgooglecom3367390 4. Steve Rogers Syracuse Poster – Orange and Proud of it! Sick hometown show too! Syracuse Complete 3. God Says Jerry’s Fine Indio Church shirt – yes, we know, its from Indio, but everyone on lot who saw this wanted one. We still want to know where to get one even! If you made it, or know who made it, get us in touch with the creator! IMG950334

2. AJ Masthay Atlas MSG – Sold out the day it went on sale, with an iconic image and Masthay’s 8 color linoleum block print. A highly sought after poster. So when does he get to start making the official posters? MSG_Atlas

1. Bobbleheads – these have been the hottest item throughout Phish land, and equally so, a reported pain to the Phish management. Technically, they arent legit, since they bear the resemblance of the members of the band, but at the same time, they are so amazingly put together and designed.  You cannot deny that, and as much as you want one, you probably cant afford one, since they are going for over $100 on ebay at any given time.

For the record, no, we don’t know where to get them, as we have been looking for the creator and that has been to no avail. Please, don’t ask. This mystery man/woman has chosen to remain unknown. Let’s respect that.
