Strangefolk shirts (and some stickers) from over the years

Having attended the four Strangefolk Reunion shows at the end of March in NYC, Burlington and Portland, I saw alot of fan made and official shirts worn by fans. With 12 years gone by since the last original lineup show, a lot of these shirts were taken from the attic, boxes or otherwise unearthed to be worn at the shows. Below is a gallery of those shirts. Thanks to Justin for sharing his online gallery – check out some old school Strangefolk shirts here

If you know when any of these shirts were printed, please leave a comment with an estimated time-frame of when the shirt was made or sold at shows. If you have a shirt that isnt featured here, contact Pete – phanart AT gmail – and share your shirt, adding to the Strangefolk Fanart record.

From Salad Jones:

I just got done making some womens baby-doll style, subtle and not so subtle Party Time shirts. On the front is a group of balloons with an oh so familiar design and on the back bottom in nice big printing is PARTY TIME! The sizes run small, so my wife who usually wears a medium wears a large of these. The small would be great for a younger phan!

Portland Timbers Ho shirts from PhishPDX

Seth Reynolds-Mohler grew up in New York state and first got the Maxell blow-back effect at SPAC ’95. Ever since then his fascination with Phish and love for the community has grown brighter and brighter. Transplanted in the West Coast, Seth began a simple movement to unite Pacific Northwest phans over the interwebs. The Phish community of the PNW has bonded and is a flourishing scene where regular “Phish Phry” meet-ups, public webcast parties, pre-show parties, and more occur on the regs. This effort and connection to the community inspires his t-shirt designs. For now, the TIMBER HO mash-up of the Portland Timbers MLS team is the offer-du-jour. However, find NYE-inspired designs to hit the scene on PhanArt and Phish PDX by December 1.

This limited edition TIMBER HO mash-up of the Portland Timbers MLS team features the Languedoc axe-head and signature f-hole treatment to the catchy Portland Timbers logo. This is a sharp design that any MLS phan can appreciate (bonus if you’re in Timbers Army). These unisex tshirts are Gildan Ultra 100% Cotton and pre-shrunk. There are only a few sizes left with no reprints until next MLS season and Summer Tour ’12. Orders ship within a day of payment via USPS Priority Mail. 10% of all sales will benefit Mockingbird Foundation.

Dub Stop shirts from N’Lytn Design Co.

Introducing N’Lytn Design Co. (Pronounced Enlighten) is a new custom garment decoration service. Unlike conventional screen printers, or heat transfer sublimations, N’Lytn is using a Direct to Garment printing method. What this allows is an array of colors with a very soft hand, as the design is printed directly onto the garment. With a wide selection of blank apparel to choose from, and the ability to print your digital art directly on it, we allow you to create exactly what you’re looking for. Unlike screen printers, we have the ability to do one offs and short runs without exorbitant set up fees. We also offer a wide variety of printing services, such as canvas art reproduction, coffee cups, ceramic tiles, wood, and much much more. With no set up time, we are able to provide quick turn around on orders placed with time sensitive demands. Feel free to contact us with any inquiries!
front
PhanArt first saw this shirt on the lots at UIC. We found Keith and got in touch with him to showcase the shirt on PhanArt. Here’s the story behind the shirt:
Dub Stop. Don’t Step. The message is clear. Dubstep, in it’s current form, is plaguing our scene. It’s angry frequencies and excessive use of Low Frequency Output filter have gone too far. When will the madness end? The general populous of Dubstep shows are too high to even realize the music is horrible. Am I opinionated? Probably, but I’m certainly not the only one who sees it this way. The first run of shirts printed went to UIC Pavilion in August, and overall had a very positive response. Lack of plus sizes and women’s sizes was a drawback, and has been remedied! The front features the DUB STOP ala RUN DMC styling, while the back reminds you “Don’t Step“, with a great man’s handprint on the shoulder, as if he is placing his arm around you, gently reminding you that this is not the way. Bassnectar’s Lighting Engineer got a kick out of the shirts, even though Dubstep pays his bills. FREE SHIPPING!
