Fishman/Coleman Pins from i.Gene and Sugar Shack Pins

From i.Gene Designs at Sugar Shack Pins:

Hey folks, I love Phish, and I Iove camping. I’ve been seeing Phish since the early 90’s, and I’ve been to most of the Phestivals. I love ’em. Can’t get enough. I make Ph pins, and this is my 1st solo project. FISHMAN (like COLEMAN) This idea popped in my head as a bridge between the two. Nice, clean and simple. Mumu for a lantern. ha ha. Looks good on anything, especially when worn in the great outdoors. Yeah, it’s wintertime + holidaze…so it makes a great gift too.

This pin measures 1.5″X .5″, made with hard enamel, 2 posts with black rubber clutches in a Limited Edition of pins numbered 1-100 with the i.Gene logo. Cost is $12.50 shipped USPS First Class with tracking. Check out my other pin w/ Jason Oestele: Sugar Shack Pins presents….. Nelson / HAHAHA

RUN ISH Black

NYE NYC Phish pins

Living in NYC, there was no shortage of inspiration through iconic symbols and everyday items that I could co-opt and phunk-ta-phy.

Whether you’re visiting the city for the run or you live here all year, you’ll probably end up with a subway pass in your pocket. This one has been tweaked. It reads “New Year’s Run” and has a subtle MSG at the top where it would normally say MTA. The dates of the run are below the ‘magnetic strip’ on the card. The hard enamel subway pass measures 1.5” x .5” – numbered 1-200 on the back, 2 posts. It also has a cut-out to simulate the real card as closely as possible. $13

The coffee cup is based on the iconic Greek-style coffee cup that has fueled the city that never sleeps for nearly 50 years. The font traditionally reads “We are happy to serve you” but has been changed for our purposes to read “We want you to be happy.” The hard enamel cup is 1.25” x .75”, 2 posts, and numbered 1-100 on the back. $13

Who doesn’t heart Fishman? The classically NY image has been tweaked to represent the how WE get down. High polished silver surrounds this phunky phrock! The hard enamel pin measures 1” x1”, #’d 1-200 on the back, and has 2 posts for sturdy wear. $13

MSG Totems from AJ Masthay

From AJ Masthay: Sixteen Years of Raging in the Garden! First off, thank you to everyone who has been following along with the progress of the MSG Rapture sets on my new blog. I’m pleased to report that they moved along at a faster clip than expected and will begin to ship later this week. Because they progressed so quickly I’m also pleased to report that I have time to take on a project that’s been brewing in my little mind since last years NYE festivities – MSG Totems.

These totems celebrate the six new years dates (past and present) at the Garden, going all the way back to 1995 with classic imagery from each year along with the iconic Grand Central clock about to strike midnight on NYE. Each panel will measure approximately 6.5″ x 23.5″ and consist of 7 colors. Totems are meant to be viewed alone, or as additional panels for the MSG Rapture acting as “bookends” for the quadtych (does that make it a sextych? How naughty…) Edition size will be 150 and all prints will be available on my store website this Friday, December 9th at 12 noon EST*.

A few more announcements from AJ:

I am incredibly excited about the upcoming release of a collaboration between myself and the insanely talented David Welker. The collab has been in the works for some time and we hope to have them completed prior to the holidays. We’re still working out the details but so far we have it narrowed down to a silk-screened edition of 60 prints. What’s the theme? As David put it, “Think Flemish Pre-Renaissance Doom. Perfect for this Holiday Season.” Yup, it’s going to be dark… love it. Stay tuned for more details on how to get one of these very exclusive pieces.

If you happen to be traveling to the City for the shows, please join myself and Mr. Miner for two very special events on December 29th. The first is a book signing and the second is an aftershow party. Both are taking place at The Irish Times – 254 W 31st St. (b/w 7th and 8th Ave), less than 1 block from MSG! I’ll be bringing some of the prints from the Mr. Miner book cover and will have them available at a discount rate. Here’s the details: The Book Signing: 4 pm – 6 pm The Afterparty w/ Coltrane and Friends: Post-show – 3 am – FREE! View more details…  One last thing, my annual Holiday Sale is still going strong. Deep deep discounts on past editions. Some have already sold out and others are very close to be gone forever. Check them out at Masthaystudios.com.

2011 NYE Coin from Adam Davidoff

From Adam Davidoff of Phishcoins:

The inspiration for the 2011 NYE Coin was simple. I wanted the coin to be very NYC, while incorporating symbolism relating to both Phish and Madison Square Garden.

For one side, I re-worked the classic design of a New York City manhole cover. The circular and silver nature of the manhole cover struck me as the perfect design for one side of this coin. As a child growing up in New York City, these manhole covers were among my first vivid memories. Instead of reading “N.Y.C. SEWER” the manhole cover on the 2011 New Years Coin reads “N.Y.C. NEW YEARS.” I always enjoy a little word play, and it turns out that the words “NEW YEARS” are actually an anagram for “A N.Y. SEWER.” This design also drifts into the realm of the Maze design from my original coin, the Maze/Bowie Coin.

For the other side, I decided to pay homage to the Duke Ellington standard “Take the ‘A’ Train” that Phish covered 118 times between 1987 and 1994. Only 8 cover songs have been performed more times by Phish, so it holds its own in Phish lore. This side of the coin depicts an old ‘A’ Train subway from the Roaring Twenties (the heyday of the Jazz Age) emerging from a tunnel as it pulls into Penn Station, where M.S.G. is located. The ‘A’ Train is littered with Phish symbolism. The four lights on the front of the subway car contain the letters “J, E, M & P” in them. The dates for the 2011 New Years Run appear on the door of the ‘A’ Train, and I threw on a couple of my favorite “lot” stickers on the front of the train, suggesting that it had been “tagged” by a phan. The words “NYC” and “NYE” appear in the oval lights on the top right and left of the subway as well.

The 2010 NYE Coin is antique silver in color, 1.75″ in diameter, 4 millimeters thick, has reeded edges, and was be minted in a limited run of 300 sequentially numbered coins. The cost of the 2011 NYE Coin is $20 on the Lot, or priced as follows with USPS Delivery Confirmation Shipping & Handling Fees: 1=$24 : 2=$45 : 3=$66 : 4=$87 : 5=$108 : 6=$129 : 7=$150
