From PhanArtist Andrew Abis, his Halloween print , “The Power of Fish Compels You’ takes on The Exorcist in his edition of 125 posters printed on Stonehenge Black Paper. The prints measure 13 x 22 and are printed using Jacquard Screen Printing Ink (purple & white)

Vinny Naro’s “Immortality”

Immortality“, a 16″ x 25” giclee art print on 250 gsm archival rag paper is the latest from Vinny Naro. In a limited edition of 25, “Immortality” is signed, numbered, and with COA. Only 20 are available. Vinny will be making different screen printed color variants on black paper, each to be released in batches of 20 or so this winter.

Based on Leonardo DaVinci’sVitruvian Man drawing and its proportions, this is sci-fi concept art to the max! Made to look like it is a lost page (pg.420!) from DaVinci’s own notebook; this describes cryonic re-animation with a mechanical body. It also is a depiction of my own artistic metamorphosis. The Secret of Immortality is written in ASCII binary, backwards and the print is riddled with tons of tiny details.

These are $52.00 includes shipping. Send paypal to vinnynaro@yahoo.com

There are also 12×18″ indigo press variants available; not signed or numbered, on 100lb. uncoated stock for $20 (includes shipping) or $10 in person.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Mockingbird.

Phamily Poker Tournament

Update 10/16/10: PhanArt is proud to Sponsor the 2010 Phamily Poker Classic. Posters, shirts and a copy of PhanArt: The Art of the Fans of Phish will be included as prizes in the event.

Announcing the 2010 Phamily Poker Classic!

The Phamily Poker Classic is a No Limit Texas Hold-em event that is for the phans and taking place in Atlantic City in the afternoon of October 30th with the final table taking place in the afternoon of October 31st. The Phamily Poker Classic is a completely non profit event with a portion of the proceeds going to The Mockingbird Foundation and the rest to the prize pool along with other cool donated items. The Tropicana Hotel & Casino is being gracious enough to help us run this event and with their help, I know that this will be a great experience for all involved!

Every player in The Phamily Poker Classic will have an opportunity to win the Tournament Bad Beat Progressive Jackpot. As of 9/12 the jackpot is currently at $49,768. Full details and rules for the Tournament Bad Beat Jackpot can be found here.

Each table will have a bounty player. This player is playing for the benefit of The Mockingbird Foundation and a special prize will be given to the player who knocks a bounty player out of the tournament. If a bounty player knocks another bounty player out of the tournament, then the latter bounty player’s prize (or prizes) will be added to the former bounty player’s prize(s). In the off chance that a bounty player wins the Tournament, the prize(s) that that player has will be auctioned off following the final table. While you will win a non-cash prize if you bust out a bounty player, we anticipate that the number and quality of non-cash prizes you receive for doing so will depend on the stage at which you knock out that bounty player and what prize(s) are carried by that bounty player at the time of knockout.

Tournament tickets are $120 and are available for advanced purchase at Cardboard Spaceship. If there is a demand to expand the tournament; additional seats may be available. Do not count on purchasing tickets at the door as this event is likely to be sold out in advance at 100 players.

Charleston poster from Caimen Ruff

From Caimen Ruff, the first poster for the Charleston shows. Caimen has been a Phish fan since she was 15 and has been to around 100 shows since 1993. she loves Phish and has been working on her art lately so she decided to draw her first tour poster.

Named after the alligator, the iron work in the lettering are patterns I found in historic Charleston. The bridge is a newer bridge in Charleston that is beautiful. The guy in the corner, is a wookie or swamp thing? The Palmetto and crescent moon are from the SC flag. The piece was created using prismacolor markers and pen on vellum and measures 11×17.  There are 20 posters in this run. Only 10 prints remain and are available exclusively on the PhanArt Blog

Periodic table of Ph[ish]

From Sam and Evan of El Del Inc.

The idea for the Periodic Table of Ph[ish] came about while we were working on a Reba design. While discussing the ingredients in Reba’s pot, Evan says, “I GOT IT!” “Periodic table of phish!”. Genius. So we threw around the idea for a bit and landed on song abbreviations and names, as if a setlist was a scientific equation. After testing the waters, although not a GREAT water to test, phans of PT said we should make it more akin to the real Periodic table. So we added Song Debut to it as well. Things you might not catch at first glance, every song in blue boxes is a Gamehendge related song (minus Punch), green are the classics and heavy hitters we all yearn for, despite recent complaints that they have been played too much. We also tried to keep songs that are always played together next to one another, like Horse > Silent in the Morning, OhKeePa > Suzy.

The cost of the poster is $20, and it measures 12×18. You can find it on lot at Providence, Amherst and Atlantic City. Sam and Evan have offered to donate two posters to PhanArt for benefit of Mockingbird Foundation.
