Designs by 8 Eyes Collaborative: Sharing the Groove Through Apparel and Food

8 Eyes Collaborative is the creative venture between Sarah & Chris Campernel of Portsmouth, NH, who have been seeing Phish since the mid-90’s. They design apparel and sell food on tour to contribute good vibes to the Phish community and to fund their attendance at as many shows as possible. Sarah & Chris choose the songs for their shirts based upon their personal experience at shows. They started with a Harry Hood shirt last year, as it was one of Sarah’s favorite show memories is the Harry Hood played at the Great Went in 1997.

The next three shirt designs – Wilson, Divided Sky, and AC/DC Bag – debuted on lot at the Bangor Summer 2013 tour opener as a Gamehendge-inspired series of designs. In addition to t-shirts and custom handmade “phishy skirts”, 8 Eyes Collaborative is currently working on new clothing and food ideas for Fall tour. Stay up-to-date on Facebook, Etsy and Twitter. A portion of all of our proceeds go to charity.

The Divided Sky and Wilson shirts are printed on Gildan Ultra Cotton shirts that are 100% preshrunk cotton. The AC/DC Bag shirt is printed on Gildan Heavy Cotton, 50% cotton and 50% polyester, also preshrunk. All shirts come in sizes small to XXL

Thursday Art Movement, A Collaborative Project Created by Lauren Domsky is Looking for Submissions

Lauren Domsky has started a large collaborative arts project called thursdayartmovement.com. Anyone can contribute to this project, whether it be a photograph, music, poetry, painting, writing, anything really.

Lauren writes: “Well, it all started with a song. I am essentially creating an environment for artists to exchange their ideas in order to create artistic inspiration. I encourage artists to post anonymously or with a pseudonym but they are certainly allowed to put their name in it if they want to get credit for their work. This is a not for profit movement. It is a dialogue of artistic ideas. One person contributes something whether it be a song they wrote, poetry, photograph, painting basically any medium is accepted.”

You can contribute by emailing your submission to Lauren at laurendomsky (at) gmail.com.

Summer Tour 2013 Posters from Caleb Williamson

Caleb Williamson, who previously made a sweet Land of Lizards map, has made some solid limited edition Summer Tour 2013 posters. His Summer Tour 2013 print is a psychedelic illustration of some of the wilder faces you’ll run into on the road, in the lots, and in the crowd on tour. The characters also represent the variety of tones the band’s sound has taken over the past summer. Like their jams, some are sinister, some are beautiful, some are full of humor.

These prints measure 11″x17″ and are printed on high quality card stock paper. Posters are hand drawn and digitally textured. The posters are in a limited edition of 30, both the Alpharetta poster, and the Summer Tour poster. Each poster is signed and numbered by the artist. Each poster is $15 which includes shipping and a bonus print from the artist’s collection of Phish related art!

Phish Magnetic Poetry!

A photo on Facebook a month or so ago got Phish fans excited, one of Phish Magnetic Poetry! Well, after some sleuthing on tour, we have discovered the original makers of this awesome creation.

F 09

Here’s the skinny Emily and Jeff’s poetry:

“My girlfriend Emily and I make all of the sets by hand in NYC. Each set contains over 150 pieces, consisting of selected lyrics from about 50 or so original Phish songs. A little backstory: the whole thing was her idea. She made me a set for my birthday and I liked it so much that I posted it to Reddit and everyone else loved it as well and wanted sets of their own, so we decided to make more. We had no idea it would take off like it did!”

Jeff and Emily are not taking orders at this time. You can follow Phish Poetry on Twitter for updates on when they will take orders again.

Northerly Island Poster from Osso Inc.

This is a five-color linoleum block print by Eric Eskildsen of Osso Inc., to commemorate the three night run of Phish at Northerly Island in Chicago. The size of the poster is 15″ x 22″ and is printed on archival Stonehenge black paper using archival oil inks in an edition of 50. Each poster is $30

Erik’s inspiration for this print was the old ship paintings where a boat is getting pummeled by the sea and storm with no refuge in sight, yet this kraken kept coming to his mind. With the skyline of Chicago in the distance and Northerly Island the only thing between the ship and certain death.

Lake Tahoe prints from Quinn Sabatini

Quinn Sabitini from Denver has made his first (and second) Phish posters for the Lake Tahoe shows this week. Having done a good deal of poster art for Denver area bands, he took his talents and put them to Phish. Below is a description of his work in the artist’s words.

Lake Tahoe Phish Night One

“While reading a lot about the Lake Tahoe region, I stumbled on a ton of info about the local Indians that inhabited that part of the state many years ago, particularly The Washoe Indian Tribe. The inspiration for these posters came from a portrait of an Indian woman from said tribe. She looked weathered and worn but you could see the experience and wisdom in her eyes and skin. I used the portrait as a reference to hand draw an illustrative version of the Indian woman. The illustration was then scanned in to Photoshop and manipulated from there. I’ve always loved the concept of two posters for multiple night runs. I chose two color schemes that I thought would best represent the region of the country. I will be selling the posters on the lot in Lake Tahoe.”

Lake Tahoe Phish Night Two

The poster is in an edition of 40, signed and numbered, for each night. The prints measure 12″ x 18″, are digitally printed on 100lb (Night 1) and 110lb paper (Night 2). Each print costs $12, which includes shipping.

Trey Guitar Belt Buckle by Gestalt

Gestalt is a small business that makes custom belt buckles out of stainless steel. They have created a belt buckle that is Trey’s guitar head, The Mar Mar Buckle. This was made by the image was recreated based on several pictures they were able to find that showed us the original detail. This image was hand drawn by the artist, scanned digitally and a program was written to convert the image from photoshop to our industrial laser. They have other images that are related to music, people, places, things, transportation, plants and animals. They even make customs belts! Check out all of their belts at their website!

This is a limited edition of 100, numbered on the back. Each buckle costs $40.

Each buckle starts as a piece of stainless steel that is 3″ wide by 2″ tall. The steel is worked, tumbled and shaped before welding the fastener on. We grind each buckle individually so that they are all different…the marks and textures are unique to each buckle, no two can possibly be identical! The image is etched in, permanently, with a laser…so it’s in there forever. The buckles are then coated with a lacquer finish after a final hand sanding to make the steel soft. They can be purchased with or without a belt…or if you have a snap belt already, these should fit on nicely the fastener is a universal size.
