Antelope: The Inspired Art of Erin Huybrechts Davis

Lifelong painter and trained artist, Erin Huybrechts Davis, captures her inspiration on canvas. Erin’s special love for the flora and fauna of Colorado blends seamlessly with the influence of Eastern Art, Philosophy and Religion, all finding their way into her many paintings. In Erin’s latest work, “Antelope”, her love for Phish can be discerned by the attentive eye. Mockingbirds fly as Antelope run in what could almost be a landscape of Gamehendge itself. Look even closer and you will see a nod to Gordon.

“Antelope” entices you with its dramatic sky and the serenity of a natural paradise of living creatures. Enter its world.

Phish Dicks Print 2014 by Michael Hunt

Michael Hunt made his first ever poster for Dick’s 2014 and has this to say about his art:

This is my first time diving into the design of a print for any music event. I have been an avid collector of concert posters for many years and creating one of my own has always been something I’ve been interested in. I finally decided to take a go at designing my own print for the Phish shows in Colorado and watching this concept go from an idea, to evolve in design and then see printed to a quality that I am satisfied with has been quite the journey. I hope you enjoy the finished product as much as I do.

These posters are 12×18, digital prints, printed on #100 Cover paper with a Matte Finish. A limited edition of 150, Signed & Numbered, these prints cost $20 + $8 Shipping. Click here to buy

Phix Reunion shows and Flood Relief Benefits in Denver and Boulder

Phish cover band Phix hasn’t played together in about four years, but with all that has happened in Colorado in the past few weeks, now is a good a time to check in on the band members and see what Phix has in store with their upcoming reunion shows in October.

1000965_209318279235138_192341650_n

In case you’re wondering what Phix has been up to, here’s a quick rundown:  Paul Murin (guitar), Brian Adams (bass), and Chris Sheldon (drums) still play together regularly around Colorado in the DeadPhish Orchestra, in addition to doing all kinds of other various gigs around Colorado.  Brian and Chris spent much of the last few years on tour with Vince Herman and Great American Taxi, and still occasionally serve as the backup band for singer/songwriter Todd Snider.  Derek (keyboards) lives in the Chicago area with his family, and is running a successful music school called the Clarendon Hills Music Academy.  Paul runs an instructional website for guitarists, HighCountryGuitar.com.

The recent floods in Colorado have affected all who live in Colorado, though all are thankful to still have a dry roof over their heads, and that their homes were not damaged or destroyed.  Paul and Chris live very close to the mountain town of Jamestown, and many of our friends and neighbors were far less fortunate than they.  This weekend and next, they will be taking part in several different benefit shows.

Auction of 3 Colorado Posters for Mockingbird

To commemorate the 3 nights of Phish at Dick’s this past weekend, we have three posters up for auction to benefit Mockingbird

Isadora Bullock – Titled “Steep” and commemorating the shows Phish played in Telluride in 2010, this poster measures 15″ x 21.5″, in a 3 color linocut limited edition of 125. Original cost was $20. This poster has since sold out!

Vinny Naro – This poster was made, as all Vinny’s work is, by hand with pen and ink. A limited run of posters was made for Red Rocks and all have sold out. The intricate detail and style of Naro’s artistry make it rare, artfully crafted concert poster art.

Kevin Mand – About the poster: The original work was done on cold press illustration board with pigment liner pens. Kevin notes that he chose to do the black and white point-o-lism as he feels it relates to how Phish is to him, as well as it is a very intricate and timeconsuming process. After hiking around Telluride for a bit he brainstormed this idea at the town park stage thinking about the “bands view”. The prints where done digitally on 12pt semi-gloss paper, with only 250 done, they are all signed and numbered.

All proceeds from this auction will benefit the Mockingbird Foundation, which supports music education across the country. Check out www.mbird.org for more info.

The posters are wrapped in craft paper and shipped in a sealed poster tube.
